Rachel’s Dunkin Donut ad pulled out because of keffiyeh
Rachel Ray’s new Dunkin Donut commercial was pulled out because of the scarf she wore that looks like a keffiyeh or shemagh, according to a report.

Rachel Ray’s controversial Dunkin Donut commercial
I think wearing the keffiyeh is not offending at all. Yes it may have become a mainstream fashion accessory and I know what it symbolizes. But Rachel Ray nor her stylist ever intended to offend anyone.

Keffiyeh or shemagh as today’s newest fashion trend
And I truly disagree with what Michelle Malkin commented about the Rachel’s scarf. In her column, Malkin said wrote that the kaffiyeh “has come to symbolize murderous Palestinian jihad. Popularized by Yasser Arafat and a regular adornment of Muslim terrorists appearing in beheading and hostage-taking videos, the apparel has been mainstreamed by both ignorant (and not-so-ignorant) fashion designers, celebrities, and left-wing icons.”

Keffiyeh as a traditional headdress of Arab men
Well Michelle Malkin, you have such a narrow mind for a columnist! I for in fact, know what the shemagh is! And not all people wear them support your so-called “Muslim terrorists”. Doesn’t that makes you brand those who traditionally wear this piece of clothing? Why don’t you try searching what keffiyeh is in wikipedia maybe that can educate you on the practicality of wearing this scarf. Western soldiers assigned in Arab countries have worn the keffiyeh in different ways just to protect themselves from the harsh weather.

German troops in Afghanistan
Here in the Philippines, even before the shemagh has become a fashion statement, numerous news personalities have worn them around their neck. One consistent keffiyeh wearer is Abner Mercado. In some occasions, Arnold Clavio also worn it.
